I could not belive that one man had dug such a beautiful garden out of the Hawkes Bay ranges.

the more one realises how little one knows."

Today's Daisies #72
Today Peter and I were meant to be having a morning to ourself and going to see the Sculpture in the Wildflowers. Unfortunatly our youngest ws feeling a bit off colour so could not go to school. Which meant that instead of the quite meander through the garden we ended up with a full scale march and a small head always inbetween me and the sculpures.06 July 2008
Mum's Garden, today's daisies and more
June is one of the most beautiful times in my Mum's garden. Actually Mum's garden looks pretty all year round. But I like it best in June when the daisies are out, the smell of the roses drifts through the air and the bees buzzing in the background. You can see more pics of Mum's garden on my Picassa Web Albums here..jpg)
Pic below is tomorrow's topic.

Yesterday
Yesterday I should have been here at Trelinnoe Park garden. Unfortunatly it was raining, the first time in weeks. Instead we went to the pictures to see the film Once. Just a nice little film about two people who loved music and what happened to them in one week, set in Dublin. Perfect for a wet morning's cinema viewing. If you click on the pic below it will take you to the offical web site for the film and if you have patience to wait a little, you will eventually get to listen to the soundtrack for the film.

I found two interesting plants on my walk this morning. I have no idea what they are. If you know what they are please leave a comment. The first plant was really beautiful, a brilliant shade of orange. The second plant was beautiful too, but a bit wierd. It looked as if a flock of baby owls were sitting on its branches, with their backs to me..jpg)

Today's Daisies, that grow outside the Homestead in Kierunga Gardens.
I have been reading a good book about Daisies. "The Plantfinder's Guide to Daisies" by John Sutton. It is full of brilliant pic's. And I have learnt a few things I did not know. I did not realise before today that the Daisy Family contains Asters, Cosmos and Sunflowers obviously. But also suprisingly Globe Thistles, Ligularia and Achillea.
