When Peter was in Edinburgh on his travels, he thought it would be a good idea to send me some pics of a couple of the shops I miss!!!!!! Fingers crossed the rumour is that Ikea will be opening up a store in Auckland next year. I hope it is true. As for Pier, I can find the same stuff here a lot cheaper, but I miss the experience.

Winter colour for the garden.

Quilting detail from a quilted petticoat in the Black Dress White Vase exhibition at Napier Museum. The fabric is cotton sateen. It is amazing that this was produced c. 1703, and still looks amazing today.

I love the colour of this hebe, I passed on my morning walk.

Today's daisy is a Gazinia, brought home from school a few weeks ago by my youngest and now flowering very nicely in our garden.

Just been to see this film and would recommend it anyone who would like to just kick back and have a good laugh. I giggled all the way through, so did Peter and my 17 year old son.

Winter has arrived. Ok I am a bit late and the official first day of Winter is 1st June. The weather so far has been good and warm. Still no rain on the horizon.
