Hastings District Council put on a series of Summer concerts in Cornwall Park each year. Today the string section of Hawkes Bay Symphony Orchestra were to perform works by Bach and Vivaldi. Because of the pouring rain, the venue was moved to Hawkes Bay Opera house.
The concert was excellent, even though I am not really a classical music fan. I just like to see performers playing live and I love the enthusiasm they have for their craft.
The Opera House was refurbished last year and looks brill. Attached are a couple of snaps of the repainted ceiling, sorry they are not to great, and one of the stained glass windows in the new foyer.
