I think a few weeks ago I said I would have more time for blogging. Hmmm, not quite how it worked out. But I did get about 20 mins last weekend to take a few pictures and here they are.
I spent a few days down at Pukeora estate selling my Coulter and Coulter cushions and stuff. Inside this building there was the most fantastic array of craft stalls in a maze of corridors. The outside however has that wonderful peeling paint look. I could not resist taking some snaps. The views out over the Tukituki river are amazing also.

First Week
Last week was my first week working for myself again. Its great to have a little time to do the little things again. Like hanging out the window, just taking pictures of my garden in the rain.
Picking lots and lots of limes straight from the tree. I love lime juice.
And best of all time to trawl around op shops to find lots and lots of bargains. I came home with armloads of goodies today all for $11 total.

Drip, drip, drip
Picture says it all really rain, rain and more rain. Sorry for neglecting my blog lately. Soon I should be back to posting more often. See you then.

Today in my winter garden..........
In my Winter garden today there are still roses blooming against blue skies and daisies turning their heads up to the sun
Thank goodness for the Queen's birthday long weekend, giving me an extra day to get out and enjoy the sunshine.
And do a bit of well needed gardening. Vege beds cleared ready to get spring plants in soon. Just seven borders to weed and the wild place to strim. Oh well roll on next long weekend.

Today's visitor
I think that Peter can be forgiven for thinking that there was a bit of stick stuck on the back of his chair.

From Art Deco to Art Demo
Napier is known as an Art Deco city. Each year there are Art Deco inspired events, Art Deco tours and Art Deco costume shops. There are even everyday Art Deco inspired clothing shops. I had to laugh when I saw this sign on a very large demolition site.

Sea, flames, bread, sausages and marshmallows
What better to do on a sunny Autumn afternoon than to head down to the beach for great views.
And fires made my real men. Well they gathered the fuel for the fire, and a log to sit on.
Sausages cooking.
Bread cooking.
And no pictures of Marshmallows cooking because I was too busy eating them.

Happy Earth Day
Happy Earth Day. We had a very quick trip out to Urban Green Living in Havelock North. An amazing urban garden. Do go have a look at the website it explains more than I can.
Every bit of space is put to good use, including a bee hive on the balcony, where tomato plants grow out of the bottom of hanging buckets.
Grass powered lawn mowing device. Just have to be careful its only the lawn gets mowed.
One day we will have one of these, maybe I could get Peter a place on one of the Pizza Oven building courses for his birthday.
Even the mail box has a green roof and the verge is planted with sweet corn and pumpkins. I have to say the chickens basking in the sun under the raspberries are the fattest, healthiest chickens I have seen in ages. Peter is very keen to have hens in our garden, I am not so sure and still need a bit of convincing.

Autumn Days
I thought you might like to join me.
You would have thought it was Spring with all the wildlife that was floating around.
The sky was the most amazing shades of blue and the gum trees look incredible against it.
Even my new camera does not capture how amazing they look.
It was like a disney movie with all the butterflies fluttering around our heads.
If you look closely at the bottom of the Pampas grass you can see a tiny little bird enjoying the sun shine too.15 April 2012

The Moon and The Stars
The Carter Observatory in Wellington mentioned that at them moment you can see Venus, the Moon and Jupiter in alignment. Peter and I thought we would see if we could spot them.
Then very faintly in the top right hand corner of this photo I think this might be Jupiter. Just might be, because frankly it could be any other star. We really have no idea, but it would be nice to think they all lined up for us.

What I did today...........
Today I just sat around feeling a little bit sorry for myself. I have a bit of a virus, infection, rashey, swollen neck thingy. So I was told it would be a good idea to sit still for a day or two. I am not that good at sitting around. It seemed like a good idea to do a bit of messing about with my camera, trying out different settings and attempting to read the really boring manual. Here are some of the results.
